Akshay has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Most recently he served as the Global Business Manager for Directional Drilling & Drilling Engineering Solutions for Sperry Drilling (Halliburton). Prior to that, Akshay spent 16 years with Schlumberger in the Wireline and Drilling & Measurement businesses and worked in Angola, India, Scotland, Dubai, Malaysia, France and in Texas. His extensive industry experience and client engagement enables WDI to deliver on its commitment to deliver safe and reliable operations to our clients.
Vice President Business Development
Miguel Sanchez has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, working in various locations worldwide. Miguel has held several key positions throughout his career with drilling contractors, E & P companies and oil field services. His last role prior joining WDI was with Parker Drilling as Senior Operations Director based in Dubai. Miguel is very commercial oriented with a great understanding of the markets, along with the competitor landscape and customer needs.
Director, Technical Services
Yann-Eric brings with him 19 years of experience in the industry, working in operations and support roles in drilling services for both Halliburton and Schlumberger across Europe, Africa and Asia. Yann has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University of Michigan and a Diplome d’Ingenieur from Ecole Centrale Paris.
Director, Supply Chain
Zafar has 25 years of experience in Supply Chain, performing in various roles and capacities in the oil and gas industry. Zafar previously held the positions of Regional SCM at Schlumberger, Regional Head of Supply Chain – Middle East & North Africa at KCA Deutag and Director of Supply Chain Africa & Middle East at Seadrill before joining WDI. Zafar has his Bachelor’s of Commerce from the University of Punjab, Pakistan and holds a Master’s in Business Management from the School of Business and Commerce, Islamabad.
Andrew has over 17 years’ experience gained through various roles across public practice (Deloitte), property management, insurance and finance and most recently the past seven years in the Oil and Gas Services sector primarily for Weatherford. Before joining WDI, Andrew held the office of Geomarket Controller for Australasia and most recently Director of Finance and Supply Chain for the Asia Pacific Region for Weatherford. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing Management and a Bachelor of Business Studies in Accountancy. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant through the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Al has 10 years of HSSE experience. Prior to joining WDI he fulfilled a number of senior roles within the Land Drilling Industry globally including as the Australasian Region QHSE Manager with Saxon Energy Services and, more recently as the Vice President QHSE with Schlumberger Land Rigs. Al is also an Armed Forces Veteran having served worldwide as an Officer in the British Army for 20+ years and brings with him strong and effective Safety Leadership skills.
VICE PRESIDENT HUMAN RESOURCES
Malcolm Beattie brings over 30 years of experience in the Oil and Gas field, with regional and country-level experience in nine countries over four continents. Having spent most of his working life with Schlumberger, Malcolm has held senior HR management roles covering the U.A.E. and G.C.C., Pakistan, Iraq, India, West and North Africa, the U.K., and North and South America, along with operations roles in South America and North Africa. Malcolm holds a Masters from the University of Reading, and is an Associate of the CIPD. He was previously a Council Member and Director of Education for the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain.
